BFTP/CNP helps companies in our 32-county region prosper by providing access to capital, business expertise and university resources. We deliver hands-on support, guidance and funding when a company needs it the most—helping our clients achieve and sustain commercial success and competitive advantage.

We offer funding and business development support services for entrepreneurs, early-stage companies, and established manufacturers looking to innovate. While the majority of our resources are targeted for new product/process development in Pennsylvania’s technology-based companies, a portion of our funding is dedicated to initiatives that support and create an entrepreneurial infrastructure in the region.

Each company in the Ben Franklin portfolio can benefit from the collective experience of our Transformations Business Services Network, a team of seasoned professionals that provide insight, guidance and assistance for a company’s most pressing business operational needs. When ready, companies in our portfolio can turn to the Ben Franklin Venture Investment Forum to prepare to secure additional sources of follow-on financing. This creates a powerful and comprehensive support program for clients.

Participation in the Ben Franklin program is competitive and based upon many factors, including the company’s ability to commercialize its technology and subsequently create and/or retain highly paid, sustainable jobs.

To qualify, your company must be:

• A technology-based start-up company or an established manufacturing firm. Retail and service companies, while important to the state and the overall economy, are not eligible for Ben Franklin funding.
• Located in the 32-county region we serve (or willing to relocate). If your company is located elsewhere in Pennsylvania, we can refer you to another Ben Franklin center.
